We haven’t posted an update in a while, but we are excited to share some news this summer. Since March, we have completed our home study update and are good to go for another year. We have checked in with our agency again this month and heard that they are working with 12 families (people who are adopting) and have completed 1 placement since March of this year. We have now spent the last 2 years going through the adoption process and being shown to families. We continue to pray and hope that a match is made soon.
We have had some exciting and good things happen these past few months. Ashley accepted a new position at her school as Assistant Principal! She is excited to be out of the classroom and making a bigger impact across her school. Tommy has been excelling in his job and enjoying it. Ashley traveled this summer to see her best friend in Virginia and helped her shop for a wedding dress. We are heading on vacation later this summer with family and are excited to get away. We have plans later this year to travel to see friends get married (we have 3 weddings!), and to see Fulton Sheen become Blessed Fulton Sheen.
Since our last update, we have been adjusting to the new normal, celebrating the good things coming our way, and remaining hopeful about the future. We are excited to welcome a new member to our extended family in about a month and to become an Aunt and Uncle! Good things are on the horizon, and we continue to pray and hope with all of you that one day we may welcome a child into our home.
